Home Based Business – One Or Many?
Having a home based business is an extremely attractive option for many people. Not only are they generally inexpensive to start, they are also low risk since you determine how fast you start, how much you spend and how much you work. By being relatively cheap to start and determining how fast you want to move, you have less risk and therefore, less stress.
Now, many people concentrate on starting a traditional business and work hard at it until it is successful. However, once you reach that pinnacle you generally have to move into a brick and mortar retail building and suddenly your expenses and your stress level increases. That’s the reason that I am so passionate about home based internet businesses. You work just as hard, just as fast (or slow), BUT once you have one working on autopilot or as close as possible, you simply repeat the process and start the next one.
That’s because home based online businesses are simple to begin as well as cheap to set up. Home based internet businesses can run themselves. So when you have a good one going, it’s time to move on to the next one. There are so many advantages to this business model that I just don’t know why more people aren’t trying it out. People who want to work from home and start the more traditional model usually have to work longer to succeed, they spend more money to get started, and they generally take more risk. However, with a home based internet business you can get it up and running in 2 weeks or less even if you have no idea what you are doing. Once you are familiar with the process you can put up a business or two each week if you really wanted to.
Another advantage to having a homebased online business is that you can spread your risk and your profit out over a number of avenues rather than having all your eggs in one basket. Once you discover your niche and are comfortable putting up the sites, the biggest challenge you have is driving targeted traffic to those sites. If you can do that then you will be successful in you home based business.
Now, I will tell you the truth, many, maybe even most, entrepreneurs fail at internet marketing. They don’t fail because it’s too hard. They don’t fail because they aren’t smart enough. They don’t fail because they don’t have enough information. As a matter of fact information is probably the biggest reason that most people fail. There is so much information available on all the different ways to make money online, that the average person gets overloaded and jumps from opportunity to opportunity and never settles on one model.
You must remember that a home based internet business is just like any other business. It requires concentrated effort until you succeed. My advice is to find something you like or you think will work for you, and then do nothing but that business until you have some success with it. Don’t stop, don’t be drawn away by some other offer. Get off all the email lists you are on, quit visiting forums and simply work on your business. I can promise you that if you pick one model and learn everything you can about THAT model, and then apply that knowledge, you WILL be successful.
One you have successfully created a profitable online business, you simply, “wash, rinse, repeat.” That means, you just do the same thing over for the next niche you enter. Pretty soon you will find yourself with 20, 30, even 40 or more internet based businesses that are bringing you a steady source of income. You do have to be realistic about this. Not every business you create will be profitable but with this model we don’t really care because we have many other sites that are profitable. You will have many baskets with a few golden eggs in each and you will soon be living the internet lifestyle.
So the answer to the headline of this article is, of course you want MANY more than one home based business.
