Promote Affiliate Programs in 5 Simple Steps

5 Steps To Promote Affiliate ProgramsOne of the most simple and time tested ways to promote your favorite affiliate program or any other product you may own is via ezine articles. In this article we are going to go through 5 simple steps to effectively write an ezine article that promotes your offer.

1. Choose What You Will Promote
This one may sound a little silly but it really does begin here. You need to know what you want to promote and why you want to promote it. The one thing you DON’T want to do is send your reader directly to the affiliate offer. You NEED to send them to a page on your own site so that you can begin to create a list that you will be able to market to later.

2. Give Them Useful But Incomplete Information
It is important to provide your readers with useful information. If you don’t they won’t bother to come back. The trick is to provide them with enough useful information that they find value and are able to apply some part of that information. The need to see that the little bit you gave them works. Then you can tell them how much better will the whole product work for them.

The whole idea is to use your content to build up your reader to make the response you are seeking and that is to take advantage of the offer you are providing. Give them reasons to need the product. Show them that by having the full product they will save time, money, effort, or whatever else the benefits of the product will give them.

3. Give Your Reader Tips, Techniques or Tutorials
This is really a pretty simple approach. Once you have determined the product or service you are promoting consider what the end result of using this product or service is. Then put together your useful but incomplete tips, techniques or tutorial.

As you share each new idea, tip, technique, step or strategy in this article or report you are pushing your reader to make the realization that they need what you are offering. You are simply laying a foundation of information and encouraging them to make the decision to purchase.

4. Expand On Each Point
When creating your content come up with several “points” that you can expand upon. These points will spell out the benefits of the coming offer. Each point should include one or two paragraphs to explain them. Make sure it is good quality content.

The goal here is to presell your reader on why they need your offer. If you don’t give them quality information that they can begin to use immediately then they really have no reason to want to buy what it is you are promoting. You need to motivate them, encourage them, show them, challenge them with great little bits of information until they can’t say no to your offer.

5. The Finishing Touches
Before you submit your ezine article there are a few things you need to do to ensure a maximum response.

  • Re-read your article.
As you are reading it put yourself in place of your reader. Do you feel that you are getting useful information as you read the article? Do you feel it has value? Do not read it as the author. Read it as a casual reader that is interested in the subject matter.
  • Promote Your Offer.
This is where a good resource box comes in. Your whole article leads right up to your resource box. This is where your link(s) are and you must provide them the opportunity to now order the product. If you have given them what they needed in the article then they will click on your link(s) and hopefully purchase the product.
  • Get Someone To Proofread Your Article.
Don’t do this yourself. Find a trusted friend, relative or co-worker to check the article for grammar and typos. You want your article to present a professional, informative, and expert image to your readers. Since you wrote it, you will not be the best judge to determine the quality of the article. By the way, don’t take the criticism personally. If you chose someone you trust then trust them.

Obviously, these aren’t the only ways to promote an affiliate offer, but these tips will get you started in the right direction.

During your visit to this blog, you may notice that I occasionally promote, endorse, or suggest products and/or services for sale. In some cases, I will be compensated if you decide to purchase that product based on my recommendation. In some cases, I will receive the product for free for review purposes. Always use due-diligence before making any purchases and never purchase anything that you cannot afford. Most people don’t do anything with the products they buy, so most of the time, their typical results are zero.
