Easy Ezine Marketing – Part 1

Easy Ezine MarketingEzine marketing is a great way to build relationships and make sales. You can create a nice income for yourself by simply sharing your knowledge and thoughts with others on topics you are familiar with. You can create a simple step-by-step instructional class in your area of expertise. If you create it in small chunks, you will be able to adapt them to an autorepsonder series which could include ads and other marketing oriented material.

Publishing an ezine is not without benefits. When you become an ezine publisher you gain the same status as a conventional newsletter publisher enjoys and it will cost you far less. The more you write and the more well known you become, the more you become an expert in your reader’s eyes. When this happens, sales are much easier to make because you have formed a relationship with your readers and they have come to trust you.

One of the best things (other than making money) about having your own ezine is the fact that the entire process of sending out your issues is done by using an autoresponder or a drip feed system on a website. This leaves you more time to focus on content creation, marketing and building your list of subscribers.

So, what is required to begin a new ezine?

You might be surprised at how easy it is to start. All you really need is the ability to produce content (create it yourself or outsource it), an autorepsonder service to deliver your messages and a basic website or blog to attract and collect subscribers.

The easiest way to begin providing content is to have it all created and simply load it up in your autoresponder. The same could be done on your website or blog if you were to set up drip feed system of some kind. The key is to automate the delivery of your messages whether you are using email or a website and then concentrate on marketing and lead generation.

Break your content down in easy to manage portions. This will make it easier for your readers to digest and follow and it will allow you to create your content as you go, or, all in advance, which is what I would suggest. For example, you could compile a list of 52 short tips and send them once a week. Or you could create 12 articles and send them out once a month. Either way gives you a full year’s worth of material for your subscribers and once it is all created you are finished. Now just market and collect leads.

There are numerous ways you can create content for your ezine. The 3 most basic ways are, write it yourself, outsource it to a ghost writer, or use private label rights material. The private label rights (PLR) articles, will allow you to modify the content to suit your needs as well as claim authorship of it.

That’s it! Those are the basics required to begin your own ezine: Content, Autoresponder, and Website. In all actuality you don’t have to have a website, but it sure makes things a lot easier and has many advantages.

The next Easy Ezine Marketing article will talk about the types and formats of ezines that you can create.

  2. Ezine marketing is an effective way indeed. The bad thing about this though, is that some people steal articles from other writers without acknowledging the original author. Hopefully someday, ezines would be copyrighted so that others can’t use them for their own gain.

  3. I’ve created a number of Ezines for clients and they tell me that they get good results when using them to offer basic tutorials and brief case studies highlighting their accomplishments.

I’m unfamiliar with them as a money making source, but for the cost they can be a great premium for those that subscribe to an email newsletter or related service.

  4. Hi Dena,

One of the key reasons to promote an ezine is to build your list. The list is what will make you money, not the ezine, although you can sell advertising and place affiliate links if the ezine is popular.

    Thanks for being a reader.

  5. I publish ezine and newsletters regularly. I outsource my article writing to the Philipenes, using a broker who vets and assesses the writers’ skills in English and grammar. It is cheap (compared to the value I put on my own time) and they are eager to please. As far as stealing articles without author credit, this has always happened and is despicable. More pervasive is people who steal our content and spin articles which they allege to be “original”. Even Copyscape can’t protect us from that.

  6. Hi guys. Regarding article stealing, I recently came across a video from that Google guy, Matt Cutts, telling you can actually benefit from content scraping; as long as you have links to your website in the content (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CosWAVLCZg). Indeed, scrapers sometimes copy-paste the entire article and you could then have a link to your website! What do you reckon?

Of course, this doesn’t solve content authorship, but still…
