What Is Private Label Rights Material

Private Label Rights
Private label rights is often abbreviated as PLR and nowadays you can find this term everywhere, especially if you frequent places that are specifically geared towards Internet marketing. Basically, PLR can be articles, reports, software, e-books, or scripts that someone has written in which they offer certain resell options to the people who purchase that product. The most common resell right options are listed below with simple explanations.
- Resell Rights (RR) – This means that you have the right to resell the product but cannot edit it or claim it as your own.
- Mater Resell Rights (MRR) – You can resell the product yourself and you can also sell the Resell Rights to your customers.
- Private Label Rights (PLR) – You can change the product in anyway you want (or make no changes at all) and claim ownership of the product.
- Give Away Rights – You can give the product away for free. Generally you can’t change or edit the product.
It is important for you to understand these definitions because they outline exactly what you can and can’t do with the product you are purchasing. Every time you purchase a product with any kind of “rights” there should be a document that accompanies the product that outlines exactly what rights you have. See an example below:
Terms
[Yes] You may add / edit or remove content
[Yes] Can be offered as a bonus for products sold
[Yes] Can be packaged with products for sale
[Yes] Can be added to paid membership sites
[Yes] Includes graphics
[Yes] Can sell Master Resale Rights
[Yes] Can sell Resale Rights
[No] Can be given away
[Yes] Can sell Private Label Rights
Purchasing and using Private Label Rights (PLR) products can be very lucrative, especially if you have your own list. However, depending upon how many PLR rights to that product are being sold you could have hundreds or thousands of people using the same material. Another issue with PLR material is finding good quality. There are tons of people and sites that sell private label rights articles and e-books but not all of them can be considered good quality.
Once you find quality sources of PLR material there are many things that you can do with it depending upon the rights that are transferred to you. You can rip it apart and use them for articles, blog posts, etc. You could take several articles on the same topic and mix them together to create a totally new and unique product and last but not least you could re-purpose them for a whole different market. I will go into different methods of using PLR in future posts.

This article really broaden my knowledge about PLR material, I recently saw a site where the owner was giving loads of PLR stuff for free, I wasn’t that interested at that time I really have to find that site because it’s really worth it right. I wonder why the site owner wanted to give them free. ; ) Is there and disadvantages with PLR content?
Hi and thanks for your comment.
There are advantages and disadvantages to everything and PLR is no different. If you are going to use private label rights material you want to start with high quality material. Content is no different than any other product. If you buy a cheap used car you are more likely to break down than if you buy a newer and better conditioned car. The same with cheap PLR versus quality PLR. With the cheap material you end up reworking the whole thing and you could have probably written it from scratch quicker and easier. However, start with quality material and follow the steps I outline in theses articles: Making PLR Your Own – The Intro, You Can Make PLR Work For You Every Time!, and Making PLR Your Own – The Guts then you are well on your way to success with PLR.
Thanks you for the reply, I will check those articles too.
