When purchasing private label rights products it is vitally important to your success to make each product your own. Our first article –  Make PLR Work Everytime –  concentrated on the title and the importance of changing it and making it your own. In this second article we will discuss the “introduction” and speak on the benefits it will provide you, your product, and your readers.

Some private label rights books will have an introduction and others will not. If your PLR book has an introduction then you need to change it up so that it becomes your own, and of course if it does not have one, then you will need to create one to help set your product apart from the others that may be on the market.

The introduction section of your book is the perfect place to help your reader to know and understand you better. You have already created some kind of relationship with your reader because they have purchased your product. You can now create even more of a bond with them through the introduction to your book.

The introduction is an important part of the customization process of your book. Not only will you be enhancing your growing relationship with your reader you are setting your book apart from the many others that may already be on the market. This section of the book does not need to be long and should not take you a great deal of time to write. The important piece in creating the introduction is to really know what the book is about.

So, the first thing you need to do is scan through the book and note every headline, sub-head, and bullet point the book contains. This will help you to become familiar with the content and give you some information on how to explain the benefits to your reader.

After you have gone over the book itself, go to the table of contents and read it thoroughly. This is the part of the book that will tell you exactly what is contained inside. Once you have scanned the book, and read through the table of contents you should be ready to compose your introduction.

The beginning of the introduction should start off with a thank you and an affirmation to your reader for buying the book. They need to know that you appreciate them and that they have made a wise decision. Once that is done you will want to tell them what they are going to gain from this book. It could be, what it is that the book is teaching them, what problem it is solving for them, or what it may be helping them attain. Whatever perspective the book is written from should be addressed in the introduction.

I prefer to thank them and/or affirm them one more time after the introduction has been written and give them my contact information whether it’s an email address or a help desk url. You want to assure them that you are there for them whenever they need you or have questions. This adds to the trust factor they are placing in you and makes them feel comfortable knowing that there is a place to go with questions or concerns.

Now, just sign your name. I suggest scanning your signature and placing it there. It will make it more personal to your reader.

That’s it! You are done.

As I said this doesn’t have to be very long process. Remember, this is just an introduction and a couple of paragraphs is plenty. 1 page or less is normal.
