Making PLR Your Own – The Guts
By now you know how and why to change the title of your PLR book and what to do with your intro. The guts we are going to discuss is the meat of your book, the chapters that are contained within. This is where we will add a little bit and make a few changes and make it totally different than what it started as. This is where you really “make it your own.”
Depending upon the length of the book one of the easiest and quickest ways to set it apart from what anyone else might have done is to simply write a paragraph or two at the beginning of each chapter. This paragraph will basically be a general introduction to the chapter. You don’t have to read the whole chapter since the title or chapter heading will normally be enough for you to create the information. You are not trying to re-write the chapter, you just want to introduce the information contained in it.
The idea behind this addition is to get your reader interested. You don’t want to give them any real information, you just want to whet their appetite so they want to read more. Now if that was all you did your book would be different than 98% of all books out there and you would have a hit on your hands.
Let’s take it one step further and ensure that no one has a book like yours and that someone could even purchase the original and not realize that yours was created from it.
If you are like me you probably have hundreds of PLR articles on your hard drive. Go through those files and find articles that are related to your book, and set them aside. This step definitely involves more work on your part but I promise that the finished product will be totally unique and will look nothing like the original.
Once you have 10 – 20 articles begin reading them and see if they will fit somewhere in your book. You don’t have to use the whole article, you might just use a paragraph or two. Take those paragraphs and add them into your book in a place where they will flow well and reword them if you need to. Do you see what we are doing here? We are adding additional content. If you were to add 2 paragraphs from 20 different articles you will have increased the size of your book by 40 paragraphs or roughly 10 pages AND your book is now totally unique from any other book on the subject.
This book with the new Title, Subheads, Chapters, introduction, and melded articles is now totally your own creation. Put your name on it and start selling!

I’ve always been pretty intimidated by PLR. It took me a while to even understand what the heck it even meant – the term “Private Label Rights” is pretty ambiguous for people who aren’t writers or publishers by trade.
And I’ve always wondered – “is content you create for Internet distribution REALLY private?” It seems like nobody writes anything unique any more. Everything you see is just a rehash of someone else’s work.
But I digress…I like how you’re going through the steps and breaking it down so even a rookie like me can understand how to make my own PLR book.

PLR is not just for ebooks. You can use it for blog posts, audio, video, email, membership sites or any other form of communication that you use. You can even use it for offline marketing where no one even knows what PLR is. Just use a little imagination and some elbow grease and private label rights material will serve you well.
