thank_you_noteTestimonials are a valuable asset when trying to sell anything online. It gives you more credibility and helps your prospects to trust you more. Below I have listed 10 ways to help increase the believeability factor of your testimonials.

Now, I know I shouldn’t have to tell you this but, if you put a testimonial on your sales page or anywhere else, make sure it is a true testimonial and not something that was fabricated. The worst thing you can do is show any kind of dishonesty to a prospect or customer.

OK, so here you go, 7 ways to make your testimonials more believeable.

  1. Photos – Ask your customers if they would send you a photo that you can use along side their testimonial. This technique will help lend credibility to your offer.
  2. Scanned Signatures – Ask if the person supplying you with a testimonial could give you a scanned photo of their signature. This technique helps the testimonial look more official.
  3. Use Audio – See if you can also record your customer’s testimonial for use on your website. It can be done easily over the phone and then added to your web page.
  4. PostCards – Ask your customer to send you a postcard with the testimonial written on it. You can then scan it and place it on your web page. This will help your prospects believe that this testimonial is real and not fabricated.
  5. Letters – Similar to the postcards above. Simply scan the entire letter and post it to your site.
  6. Email – If your customer sends you an email testimonial use a screen capture utility like Jing and capture the whole email. You should include the date, time, subject line and of course who it’s from. This is a great way to build credibility with your testimonial.
  7. Video – My favorite and most credible method. If your customer has a camcorder ask them if they could record their testimonial and if you could place it on your site.
