Niche and Grow Rich

Target Your Niche Market

Target Your Niche Market

Everybody’s talking about niches and for good reason. There are hundreds and probably thousands of niches that are untouched and ready to buy. That is of course if you can find the need and fill it or solve it.

Here are a few examples of niches :

Cats, Golf, Fishing, Credit Cards, Travel, Collectibles, Dating, Dog Training, Satellite TV, Beauty Tips, Astrology, Religion, Bartending, Alternative Health, Brewing Beer, Gourmet Foods, Health and Fitness, Gambling, Mortgages, Music, Jewelry, etc. You get the idea.

When you look at the examples above you have to realize that those are the main categories of that niche. Within each of the categories there are sub categories which are in fact niches as well. Take dog training for example. Within dog training you can have obedience training, show dog training, guard dog training, and several others. If you can think of a subject there is probably a niche market for it.

The key in niche marketing is to find a “tightly focused” niche. The reason for this by narrowing down the size of the market the little guy has a chance to get a foothold and make some money.

Once you narrow down the size of the market you have an automatic advantage. Here’s why :

  • It’s pretty easy to become an expert in your niche (if you aren’t already)
  • In a narrowly focused market it’s easier to keep current with information and trends
  • This allows you to respond faster to changes in the market
  • You can build close relationships with your customers

So how do you market to a niche?  In a nutshell here’s how it works :

  • Find a niche and research the market to see if it is profitable
  • Develop a product to service the market or outsource the creation of the product
  • Create a web site to market the product(s)
  • Drive traffic to your website and sell your product
  • Repeat the process with a new and different niche

If you can create a niche site that produces one sale a day at $20 you will create $7300 a year in revenue. Now multiply that by 10 sites or 20 sites. How much money could you make?

But before you get too excited, don’t start thinking that niche marketing is your magic bullet. If you plan on having a successful niche business, you have to work at it just like any other business, but if you’re prepared to put in the effort, the rewards can be significant.
