This newsletter is valuable because it allows you to keep up on the news from the site without having to come by every day or so. It also gives me the chance to build a relationship with you and increase the public awareness of this site. Doing the same thing on your own site will provide you the same benefits.

Blogs and RSS feeds
I will use this site as an example again. You are reading a blog. Blogs are generally easy to set up and operate as well as providing you with good out of the box search engine optimization. They are useful in a couple other ways as well. You can comment on other people’s blogs and drive traffic to your own because people are curious and want to see who is commenting. Commenting also leaves a one way link back to your website which help in your search engine rankings. Another benefit is that you can add your blog to many RSS feeds and other websites can pick up your content and have it placed on their site, thus giving you even more exposure.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases
Almost every visitor that comes online will eventually search for something they are interested in. The words they type in are called keywords and keyword phrases. This form of traffic generation is a little time consuming but it well worth the effort for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that most forums allow you to have a signature in your profile. In this signature you can have a link to your own website. Once again this give you a one way back link to your site which the search engines will reward you for. You signature should contain your keyword or keyword phrase which will help when people are search on this term. A second reason this is a valuable source is that you can gain insight and spot trends when you are in these online communities. This will allow you create products that people are talking about.

Article Submission
Writing articles are a great way to generate traffic.  The goal in article writing is to provide valuable, pertinent information to your readers. You can of course place articles on your own site but you want to submit them to the big article directories so that they are published and MANY people will have the opportunity to read them. Each article you write will have a resource box that leads back to your website. Once again, you have another one way back link. Secondly, your article could be used by other webmasters as content for their websites which give you more exposure and helps you to become known as an expert in the field you are writing about.

This method of driving traffic requires a little bit of an education to do correctly but once you know how there is no better source of targeted traffic available. You need a Google Ad Words account to begin and you NEED to educate yourself before using this method.

Social Media and Book Marking
It is good practice and beneficial to bookmark the individual pages of your site using bookmarking sites like, Google, Yahoo, Digg, De.li.cious, and others. These bookmarks are great spider food for the search engines and allow other who may be interested in what you have on your site to come right on over and check it out.

Offline Advertising
Many people forget the benefits of offline advertising. If you can afford it, post card marketing is a great way to drive traffic to your website. You should always include your website address on anything use print for your business such as business cards, flyers, brochures, etc. You can even sponsor little league teams and have your website on their shirts, and don’t forget your car. It’s easy to have vinyl letters made for your window or a magnetic sign for the side or back of your vehicle.

There are many other ways in which you can drive traffic to your website but if you use the tips above you will have traffic flowing on a regular basis and as long as you have traffic you have the chance to sell your product.
