Autoresponders are a must!
Statistics show that a prospect does not normally buy anything before seeing your message 5 -7 times. There are a number of reasons that this is true but the point is that you need your autoresponder to be a faithful, dependable salesman. One that will allow your prospect to get to know you and your offer(s) over the period of automated messages.
A simple scenario might go like this: A prospect contacts you for information on a product or service. Your autoresponder automatically sends out the information to your prospect. In 2-3 days your next automated message is sent, and then in another 2-3 days a new message is sent. All of this is automatic because you have set up these messages in advance.
At this point you are basically allowing your prospect to get to know you. It is the relationship building phase. You provide them with useful information and small action steps that moves them towards your desired result which could be a sale or an appointment.
Eventually, you have gained their trust and at some point they will become a customer rather than a prospect. For some this takes a short time and for some a long time and for some it may never happen but as long as they are on your list you have a chance to make the sale.
Here are some basic uses for your autorepsonder:
- General Information
Everybody has information that they want their prospects and/or customers to know about. It could be information about a product or service they are interested in. It could be anything really. Depending upon your subscribers input you can send your emails as text or HTML. - Building An Opt-in e-Mail List
Building an opt-in email list is usually done with an autoresponder. A subscriber gives their name and email address (usually in exchange for something) and then they are sent a second message asking them to verify that they want to be on the list. - Following Up
Once you have an opt-in list you follow up on a regular basis with your prospects and/or customers. After your initial set of automated messages have been sent and you have built a relationship with your customers you can send what is known as a “broadcast message” to them. This is a message that is broadcast to all the addresses in the list at once or if you are using a good service or software you can segment the list and only send to those you want too instead of the whole list. - Multi-part Messages
Information can be broken down into bite size chunks and sent over a period of time. This is good for courses and affiliate marketing. This approach is often used as a sales tool. After receiving all of your messages your subscriber has gained confidence in you and your information and you can then present your offer with a better chance of gaining a sale. - Customer Support
There is really no limit other than your imagination to the uses that autoresponders can provide in supporting your customer. You can provide before and after sales support information such as FAQs, thank-you messages, request for testimonials, pre-sale information and sales letters, etc.
As you can see having an autorepsonder for your business in todays society is a must. It will make your life much easier and provide numerous ways for you to profit from your list. There is a saying amongst internet marketers:
“The money is in the list”
This is true statement and you will benefit greatly if you remember it.
